WEDDING TRADITIONS
The Irish Marriage Bell

A Celtic tradition has it that every couple should receive a bell as a wedding gift. The bell is placed in a prominent location in the newlyweds' home. When a disagreement takes place, one of the couple rings the bell to end the discord and declare a truce without an admission of fault.

This old Irish tradition of giving what is also known as the "Trouble Bell" or "Make Up Bell" was established so as to prevent disharmony to linger for more than its due.

We absolutely love this tradition and think it is one that could be a universally well received and often practiced custom far beyond just the bonny green shores of Ireland!

Congratulations to Tamara and Josh on winning our drawing for a free night in our bridal suite at Los Willows' spectacular Inn & Spa! We enjoyed seeing them experience the
same relaxing
"Ahhhhhh..." moment that all our brides and grooms do as they cross the threshold past our inviting doors, welcomed by the gently cascading waterfall setting the tone of our peaceful and serene Inn following the lively excitement of their weddings.

At Los Willows, we love providing a private wedding night haven for our brides and grooms and their bridal parties in our luxuriously appointed European style Inn right here on the same grounds where the wedding takes place. High above the wedding site nestled in the valley below, sits our gorgeous Inn, from which guests take in spectacular views not only overlooking the picturesque lake and wedding gardens where they were just married, but of the Los Willows vineyard and green canyon hillsides that go on for ever...richly drenched in the warm hues of glorious sunsets and sunrises.
